Probably no other Austrian artist has dedicated himself as much and almost exclusively to the medium of woodcut as Erich Steininger. Born in 1939, the graduate of the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna was one of Austria’s best-known contemporary printmakers. Following on from the figurative tradition of Expressionism, he developed his very own abstract formal language based on the concept of printmaking, with which he fully utilised the possibilities offered by the printing process.

Georg Eckmayr from Vienna is a multidisciplinary artist, researcher and lecturer. He studied digital art in Peter Weibel’s class. His art (media installations and purely digital works) works with contrasts and ambivalences, using contradiction as a productive force.

The focus of his work is on the interweaving of physical and machine domains and their effects on social and identity practices.
